How to play online blackjack

Game of online blackjack

Choose your blackjack game and place your bet before the dealer deals the cards. The aim of the game is to have a better hand than the dealer while getting as close to 21 as possible without actually going over this number.

It’s very easy to calculate the value of your hand, all you have to do is add the value of your cards. The big question is: will you dare to take another card (hit) or do you play it safe with the hand you have and stand? One card can make all the difference! Choose your strategy and take on the dealer.

Learn some handy words

Want to become a blackjack pro and show off your skills to the world? Learn these common blackjack terms:

  • Insurance: If the dealer’s first card is an ace and you think they’ll get blackjack, you can take out some insurance. This means you pay half of your initial stake. If you are right, and the dealer does get blackjack, your insurance will pay out 2:1 and lose the original stake. If the dealer doesn’t have blackjack, you'll lose your insurance bet.
  • Double down: after you’ve received 2 cards, you can decide to double your initial stake. Once you’ve done this, you can only draw 1 extra card.
  • Surrender: when the players and the dealer have received their first 2 cards, you can choose to leave the game and fold. If you choose this option, you will get 50% of your initial stake back.
